Lockie visited Wellington Square, in East Perth this morning. It is a place of ‘Identity’ to the aboriginal people. A meeting place to maintain culture and keep memories alive. It has spiritual links for the Noongar people. It is fitting that this public artwork by Sandra Hill (a member of the stolen generations) is acknowledging the stolen generations. The space at the northwest corner of the Square is called ‘Mia Mias’ and is a place of healing.
