To celebrate NAIDOC Week, this artwork by a Yamatji / Yinggarda man in Corrective Services care is on display next to the Town Hall in Hay Street. It is entitled, ‘Walking on Country’, and depicts the story of 2 Elders walking on country, passing on their knowledge to the next generation. It is the artist’s interpretation of this year’s theme of ‘The Next Generation: Strength, Vision and Legacy’.
