Lockie Visits Snugglepot and Cuddlepie

It’s been quite some time since Lockie visited the Gumnut Babies, Snugglepot and Cuddlepie. Of course, we always know where to find them.

They live in the undeniable Aussie bush setting in Stirling Gardens next to the footpath on Barrack Street. (Close to St George’s Terrace) Hundreds of people walk past them every day, many not even knowing that they’re there.

These beautiful bronze sculptures were created by Claire Bailey and Indra Geidans in 2001, and have delighted passers by, who happen to notice them. Snugglepot and Cuddlepie are the beloved May Gibbs characters, from books that date back as far as 1916!

Look out for them next time you’re walking along Barrack Street next to the Gardens.
