Lockie and I discovered this spot when I took the wrong exit off the freeway. It has the best view of the Old Swan Brewery. In the 60’s and 70’s the building would light up at night showing the shape of a ship. It was magical seeing the beautiful vessel floating on the Swan River. It’s one of my favourite childhood memories. Today, the complex is bigger and includes a cafe, a restaurant and apartments. The original building started life as a timber mill and also a flour mill in 1838. The Swan Brewery bought the property in 1877 and it became an iconic Perth building.
