We just happened to be passing through Barrack Square as the ‘Lanterns of Terracotta Warriors’ were being carefully transported to South Perth. (They had a very quick stop over at the Bell Tower forecourt this morning.)

The lanterns will be near the Mend Street Jetty until Sunday, if you want to take advantage of the photo opportunity.

Originally created for the 2008 Beijing Olympics these beautiful lanterns combine contemporary art with ancient Chinese culture.

They’ll be back in Elizabeth Quay at the end of November.
