Lockie at the Matagarup Bridge

The Matagarup Bridge opened in 2018, but it feels like it’s always been there. Lockie enjoyed a stroll over it yesterday.
It’s a pedestrian bridge spanning the Swan River from East Perth to Burswood. It’s most used on game day (football mainly) as fans leave their cars at home, catch public transport and walk the 370m across the bridge to Optus Stadium.
In a city where we like to drive everywhere, it still amazes me how the people of WA have embraced the no driving to the stadium policy. It was a brave move and it worked!
