If you want to know how Perth became the City of Light, call into the Council House foyer. Lockie and I did. There is an informative display explaining how astronaut John Glenn honoured our city with that title in 1962. It’s worth having a look when you’re checking out the Boonji Spaceman in Stirling Gardens. You can even take a selfie with a smaller blue spaceman.
